The first of a series of childrens Spotter Guides to be published by Quira this summer, "999 Spotter" takes youngsters on a fascinating journey to discover the many different types of vehicles used by the UK emergency services.
It includes many different types of police cars, fire engines, ambulances, lifeboats and vehicles from other more specialised emergency services such as HM Coastguard and bomb disposal. The application provides a short informative explanation against each photograph displayed, which helps your child to better understand the valuable work undertaken by each of the emergency services.
999 Spotter keeps score as each vehicle is spotted. At 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, your child receives an encouraging round of applause, and has the option of submitting their score by email to our on-line "Spotters League" where they can compete against their friends and other children from across the country. League data includes only your childs first name and town. The Spotters League will be included in all future Quira Spotter Guides. This application includes helpful instructions for both you (the parent) and your child.
It wont be too long before your child is remembering to take this application out and about with them, as they never know where the next emergency vehicle "spot" is going to come from!
